Minho itinerary

This route meanders in close proximity to the beautiful and diverse Northern coast of Portugal. The wine traveller departs from the idyllic town of Vila Nova da Cerveira, then passes through the border town of Valença with its antique fortifications, before arriving in Monção, which is considered to be the capital of the "Alvarinho" wine. The route will then take you through the mountainous regions of the North, through ancient and charming villages like Castro Laboreiro, Soajo, and Lindoso, which are situated along the magnificent National Park of Peneda-Gerês. The final destination for this excursion is the city of Melgaço, where we strongly advise a visit to the castle, which stands as a prime example of 18th century Portuguese military architecture.
